6 rubric Peer Taught Lessons and Critiques       popup preview
Working in a team of 2 or 3, pre-service teachers will co-design and co-teach a 45-minute lesson to our class. This lesson will be one of the fully developed lessons from your unit assignment. You team will write up a draft of your lesson (using the lesson plan template for this class) and meet with the instructor to discuss it at least one week before you teach it. At the end of the lesson, your peers will critique your lesson and provide informal feedback. You will use this feedback to revise your lesson plan and reflect on the teaching of your lesson. Prior to drafting your lesson you should find at least one reading that discusses learning issues students may have for the topic of your lesson. This can be a reading from The Mathematics Teacher (available through JSTOR), from one of our textbooks, or from another mathematics education journal. You should use this reading to inform the design of your lesson. Your lesson will be evaluated based on your lesson plan, the extent to which you addressed in your lesson plan learning issues from the reading you selected, your execution of the lesson, and your individual written response to peer feedback in both your revised lesson and your reflection.

13 rubric My Story - Digital Story Rubric       popup preview
Choose 3-5 of those significant life events and analyze them through the lens of the developmental theories learned in class. Perhaps now you have thought of something else that you left out of your original timeline but is representative of "who you are," so you may want to add this perspective to your story. For this assignment, you will be completing a digital story. A digital storytelling project is a process that results in a short video that helps you organize your experiences and illustrates your learning using meaningful images, fitting music, and a well-written script. This script answers essential questions about your expectations and experiences. This assignment is a multi-step process; first you will perfect your script which is then transformed into a storyboard document that is used to guide your thinking while you create the video, you will then find images and music that help emphasize the ideas in your script, and finally you will record your digital story. This assignment should be no shorter than three minutes in length, and no longer than five minutes. Additionally, you will need to submit your storyboard script to the My Story assignment section. This document should be 2-5 pages with one-inch margins, double-spaced, and should be typed in 12-point Times New Roman, or similar, font. On this document, make sure to highlight key words and concepts, and identify when transitions between images occur by utilizing "///" to indicate the start of the next image. The resource below "Digital Storytelling Helpful Hints" contains an example of a storyboarding document.
