Main ideas 3 pts Does the outline include all of the main ideas?	Poor The outline is missing half or more of the most important ideas. Or, the main ideas are not identified.	Fair The outline includes all of the main ideas except for one.	Good The outline includes all of the main ideas.
Core Meaning 1 pts Does the outline show a clear understanding of what the article says?	Poor The meaning of the outline is very different from the meaning of the article.	Fair Some ideas were misunderstood, but most of the ideas were kept the same.	Good Ideas from the article are communicated clearly in the outline.
Support -Quanitity 2 pts Are enough supporting details given?	Poor No specific support is given.	Fair There is only one supporting detain for each main idea.	Good There are at least two supporting details given for most of the main ideas. The amount of support for each idea is the same in the outline as it is in the passage.
Support identification 3 pts Is each type of support identified correctly?	Poor The types of supporting details are not identified.	Fair Each type of support is identified correctly, but there are one or two mistakes.	Good All of the support is identified correctly.
